Service terms

These terms set practical expectations for using Xuari, contributing profile information, and requesting profile management.

Last updated 26 July 2026.

1. Operator and contact

Xuari is an independent project run by a martial arts enthusiast, not a company. It is not currently an incorporated business, so no company name, share capital, or commercial registration applies.

The contact form is the direct route to the person responsible for the service.

    2. The service

Xuari helps visitors discover martial arts schools and senseis in Portugal through connected public profiles. Representatives may register and request limited management access to reviewed profiles. Xuari does not provide instruction, bookings, payments, membership management, certification, or emergency services.

    3. Directory limitations

Profiles are informational and may be incomplete, outdated, or supplied by third parties. Visitors should confirm schedules, locations, prices, qualifications, suitability, and safety directly with the relevant school or sensei before relying on them. Publication by Xuari is not an endorsement or guarantee.

    4. Accounts and management access

Registration creates no editing rights. Representatives must submit truthful, proportionate evidence and receive item-level approval before managing a profile. A management grant is not certification of legal ownership. Users must secure their access, update only assigned pages, and notify Xuari of suspected compromise.

    5. Acceptable use

Use Xuari in a respectful way that protects practitioners, schools, senseis, and the accuracy of the community directory.

    • Provide accurate information and correct it when you learn it is wrong or outdated.
    • Do not impersonate another person, school, sensei, association, or authorised representative.
    • Do not threaten, harass, discriminate, defame, submit unlawful content, or misuse personal data.
    • Do not evade security, scrape abusively, disrupt the service, or attempt access beyond your permission.

    6. Content, responsibility, and intellectual property

Contributors must have permission to submit names, text, professional contacts, images, credentials, and links, and remain responsible for their accuracy and legality. By submitting content you grant Xuari a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, format, reproduce, and display that content in the directory, and to show it in Xuari's own promotional material about the directory. The licence lasts while the content is published and ends for future use when the content is removed, except for copies Xuari must keep for legal or audit reasons. Xuari names, branding, code, and original materials remain protected by applicable intellectual-property rights.

    7. Profile claims and disputes

A profile subject or authorised representative may request management, correction, restriction, or removal. Xuari may request proportionate evidence, pause disputed content, preserve necessary audit evidence, and give affected parties a fair opportunity to respond. A management grant is not an ownership ruling.

    8. External links

Profiles may link to independent websites, social networks, email addresses, phone numbers, and Google Maps. Xuari does not control those services and is not responsible for their content, availability, privacy practices, or transactions. Use of Google Maps features and content is subject to Google's current end-user terms and privacy policy.

    9. Availability and changes

Xuari may correct, hide, restore, or reorganise profiles and may change or interrupt the service for maintenance, security, legal, or product reasons. Continuous or error-free availability is not promised. Material changes to approved terms should be dated and communicated appropriately.

    10. Abuse, suspension, and removal

Xuari may reject content, limit actions, suspend or revoke access, or hide a profile when reasonably needed to investigate abuse, impersonation, security threats, rights complaints, or repeated rule breaches. Where appropriate and safe, Xuari will explain the reason and provide a way to respond.

    11. Responsibility and reasonable liability limits

Martial arts and physical training involve risk. You are responsible for choosing suitable instruction and for seeking professional health advice where appropriate. Xuari is a directory: it is not a party to any agreement between you and a school or sensei. To the extent permitted by law, Xuari is not liable for the acts or omissions of independent schools and senseis, for decisions you make based on directory information you have not confirmed, for indirect or consequential loss, or for events beyond its reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer law.

    12. Portuguese law and disputes

These terms are governed by Portuguese law, and the Portuguese courts are competent to hear disputes. If you use Xuari as a consumer, this does not remove the protection of mandatory rules of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of your own domicile. Xuari asks you to raise a complaint through the contact form first so it can be resolved directly. Consumers may also use the alternative dispute-resolution entities listed by the Portuguese consumer authority.

    13. Contact

Use the legal contact above or the Xuari contact form for questions, complaints, profile disputes, copyright concerns, or reports of abuse.
